Days of Our Youth (DOY) was founded in 2013 by two university students, Paul and Stanley, who recognized the urgent challenges faced by Uganda’s youth. From rampant unemployment to rights abuses, drug addiction, and other societal issues, the need for a dedicated initiative became clear. Officially registered on October 21, 2016, DOY was established to provide holistic support and empower the youth to overcome barriers to their development.
Despite Uganda’s economic strides, its rapidly growing youth population remains underserved, facing systemic injustices and limited opportunities. DOY was created to address these challenges by engaging young people in positive transformation. Through peace building,Civic participation, and empowerment programs, DOY seeks to unleash the potential of Uganda’s youth, instilling confidence, leadership skills, and the capacity for meaningful change.
We work with local leaders, conduct surveys, and organize focus groups to identify urgent issues. This ensures our programs address the unique challenges faced by each community.
Crafting tailored strategies, we design impactful programs that address community-specific challenges while ensuring sustainability.
Community participation is at the heart of our efforts. Through awareness campaigns and grassroots collaboration, we foster trust and ensure that programs are shaped by the people they serve.
Our initiatives are executed with the help of local partners and volunteers, ensuring maximum impact and adaptability.
We prioritize transparency and accountability by tracking progress, gathering feedback, and making data-driven improvements.
Using our on-the-ground insights, we push for policy reforms to promote systemic change at local and national levels.
We empower communities to sustain the impact of our programs by building local capacity and replicating successful models.
Through DOY’s youth leadership program, I’ve developed skills I never thought I had. The mentorship I received has guided me in becoming a leader in my community. I’m now organizing youth groups and leading initiatives that make a real difference. DOOL has given me a purpose.
The legal aid services provided by DOY saved my family from losing our home. We didn’t have the resources to fight our case, but the team at DOY stepped in and helped us every step of the way. They gave us hope when we had none. We are forever grateful.
As a woman in my village, I faced many challenges, but DOY’s support has been invaluable. They provided legal aid and counseling when I needed it most. I’ve learned so much through their programs, and now I feel empowered to take control of my life and support other women in my community
Before joining the empowerment workshops, I didn’t know my rights or how to stand up for myself. DOY has not only educated me about my rights but also gave me the confidence to speak up. Now, I’m helping others in my community understand their rights too. It’s truly life-changing.
I’ve always cared about the environment, but I didn’t know how to make a difference until I got involved with DOY. They taught us about sustainable practices and how to protect our natural resources. Now, our community is cleaner, greener, and more united in our efforts to preserve our environment for future generations.
